There is always work to do on software to keep the system up-to-date with the latest technology improvements. Over the summer, we have been working on software upgrades and enhancements to deliver Version 6.0.
We commissioned independent external security testing from CyberCX to identify risks from spammers, scammers and other evil-doers.
In our latest version release, security enhancements include second-step verification so that only authorised users can access any part of the system.
Performance and infrastructure updates include an upgrade of our content management system (CMS); and to our security scanning systems and authentication protocols. We now offer automatic advice of data disposal when your election is complete, and on-line archiving of your Declaration of Result.
Bug fixes include work on the voting paper download, electoral roll processing and pdf execution. Enhancements to pdf and file handling include reconfigurations to improve reliability.
Accessibility enhancements are there to improve access for everyone.
Our service and application has recently been assessed by Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S). Contact the Ministry of Education for more information about this process. It gave us confidence that our work to make your election secure, valid and accessible has paid off.
Patch announcements will be made to all licence holders as they are released, and online here.
